Pub: Thank you for the kind words!

Jennlee: The ending is a little difficult simply because it was only the next day. There wasn't really a chance to show Hermione's reaction to Sally-Anne the next time they met in the halls. I'm not sure that she would desert poor Sally-Anne either, but to someone who was as lonely as she was, any interaction with other characters would have been seen as betrayal. Two key points in the story was Hermione's reluctance to talk about her fellow Gryffindors and the fact that even Sally-Anne notices a difference in the way Hermione interacts with her vs. the way she interacts with Harry and Ron. For Hermione, Sally-Anne was more of an acquaintance rather than a friend, but for Sally-Anne, Hermione was the best friend she always wanted. It was simply an unequal friendship to begin with. Sally-Anne didn't want anyone else, but Hermione wanted to be friends with people in House, specifically Ron and Harry. It was a difficult balance because all we see is Sally-Anne's perspective. Thank you for the constructive words though - I do appreciate them.

This was interesting and well written - very angsty. I liked the OC, and the descriptions of her in relation to her family were very nice. I don't think Hermione would really treat a friend like that, though, (maybe the OC was just jumping to conclusions though) so the ending sort of rubbed me the wrong way a little.
