Awww. I like your Charlie very much, and Modwin and Ingrid, and everyone's offhand discussion of dragons. Makes them all seem very much the experts. Love the idea of an Alaskan Sniffer. And a Short-Snout with an allergy. Hee-hee.

This is a great introduction to your Charlie Weasley series. I really liked the tocuhes with the Short-Snout having allergies to spinach and Ingrid's dad winning a Tournament. It's nice to see Charlie get some recognition for a change and you've crafted some interesting OCs, particularly Ingrid, who is wonderfully confident, independant, and intelligent. Looking forward to reading the rest of your Charlie stories!

What a great little story. And "little" is part of the compliment--it is not wordy, and the words that are there do their jobs well. Personally, I like how so much of it is told in action and dialogue, rather than description. And it's natural dialogue, too. I've read a lot of stories that use dialogue, rather than description, to try to set the scene or provide background. But in many cases the dialogue sounds forced--not the way people normally would speak. Not an issue here! Everything sounds plausible (within the context of the magical world, of course).

Excellent! Maybe just an opinion, but more description and a mite less conversation could polish it.

hem hem. eurydice, how come we've missed you before this? this was a lovely story, and very well-written! you seem to have a knack for avoiding the usual cliches that many new writers fall back on (you did say this was your first story?), and that makes your writing...fresh as a daisy! (heehee--little cliche joke, there.)
siriusly, we liked this. we think you're KEWL. we're off to read your other things.

Ah Charlie... how we love you. Bashful girl-shy dragon-enthusiast that you are.

I enjoyed that -- the writing was good, Charlie was Weasleyish somehow and very appealing. Oooh she knew he was a seeker -- his Hogwarts reputation preceded him?

(BTW, my husband was just in Sweden on business and he said there were plenty of dark haired people there. He did say he saw lots of TALL people though...)

Will there be more?

Oh, hey, that was just plain cruel... stopping the story like that. It was getting interesting! Poor Charlie, left hanging like that.

One curiousity though - Ingrid is tall, she's from Norway, and she has a Scandinavian name. But you gave her *black* hair and *brown* eyes?
