Oh my goodness....That was soooooo sad. What makes it even more tragic is that at the end we realize it was really Fred who died and then when George goes on pretending to be Fred....really, how could he do that....It just seems so wrong, even though I know that no one can tell them apart, he'll always know deep down and he'd have to get used to being called, sorry, I know it's just a story, but I honestly have tears in my eyes from it. :( Great work at this.

...Wow. That was sad and a little creepy,

When you look into the mirror, the mirror looks back at you. After all, all mirrors have two sides. Why should the one they called Fred have to be the one to die?

That's so sad, deep, poignant. It's Poor George, losing not only his best friend, his twin brother, but his identity, for the sake of Angelina and her unborn children.

This was one of the first stories that I read when I came to Sugarquill. The way you wrote it was excellent, because it has such a fantastic twist at the end that boggles the mind.

I can only imagine the heartache that would come from losing a twin, especially losing a twin that is as close to you as Fred and George are to each other. You conveyed that perfectly, and I really liked the mirror analogy. Well done.

Thats....Outrageous!!!!!!!!!!! Aww...Not fair. Probably because the lost identity thing between Fred/George is unlike Cannon. btw, Fred/Angelina is for sure. And George? doesn't Cannon suggest Alicia or someone? Anyways, Good Story! Care to write a sequel?

My gods. That was... creepy? Disturbing? Out of character for the twins perhaps, but still... the *thought*. I mean, we all can imagine the twins taking each others classes and such, blah blah blah, but that...

Geeze. Well writ. Now go and kill that plot bunny before he comes up with anything else so disturbing!

Wow!! Just wow!! That was just amazing! Creepy, but amazing! I just feel so bad for all of them, George especially. I mean, Fred lost his life, but George lost his identity. Ehh, who am I kidding? The story's just tragic for all of them.

The part where George put on Fred's wedding ring just gave me the chills.

I just love this. The idea is so simple, yet heart-wrenching. I could see it happening if one of the twins died.

My favorite's part has got to be:
"He could never remember having so much of everything that he had always wished for in his life, although the one thing he had taken for granted had been torn away." George has finally gotten what he'd always wanted (that is, Fred's life with Angelina), but at the prize of his twin's life.

Oh, definitely the best twin angst story I've read!

Write a more cheerful one! I wouldn't mind reading a George/Angelina fluff (*shrugs* I'm one of those rare ones).

Well, that was a nice twist. Fred and George had always been interchangable. So, one day, they did change places. And, you know something? I'll bet that she'll never realise what had happened.

A great twist for the end. I had to read it three times to make sure that I had read it right. ;-)

This is one of the best written short stories on the Quill. It has a great hook. The story is well written. I like the use of flashbacks and how easily you move back and forth from the here and now to different times during the lives of the twins. Plus the characters are true and warm.

I always do this thing where i see how well the author connected the title with the story, and i just have to say that the title of this fic fits in perfectly. But that's the kind of observation that only i would think as important. Great story, never have i thought that George would do something like that to Angelina or Fred. (or do i have that backwards?, is it George that died and fred that's lieing or is angelina dead and Fred is the one that's pregnant?)which ever one it is, i understand the plot and it was very enjoyable and original. Good work, i've always loved your stories ^-^

ah. oh. sad. *weeps* very sad. depressing. You have to write something fluffy to make up for this WONDERFUL...but SAD...story. The bit about George saying he's Fred, so that they won't...ooh. Creepy. And beautiful, only not. I think "Who Am I?" from Les Miserables for some reason--"Must I name be no more than an alibi" or something along those lines. Poor Weasleys. I think it's worse that he just died--no heroic death from Voldemort If I didn't have to go to bed I'd go read something fluffy. Well I'm babbling now so I'll just say--very good. Short, but powerful.

Thank you all for your glorious praise. : ) I, for one, am certainly glad that I finally decided to exorcise this plot bunny by writing it. It still gives me goosebumps when I read it as well.

Would it work? I think probably not. I'm not so sure that the Weasleys would know, but I'm pretty sure that Angelina would work it out.

As for Szandara's question - Is there another plot bunny hopping into the scene? All I can say is perhaps. I already know the title, who's POV, what's happened, etc. for a sequel, but the bunny isn't quite as irritating as the first one, so I might leave it for the time being. All I can say is that if it happens, it probably won't happen before OotP comes out, because I'm insanely busy trying to meet that deadline for The Promise Ring. Unless, of course, this bunny develops teeth and a tendancy to use them when I'm trying to write...

If you're interested in another of my short stories, which is non HP related, but I've been told is similarly emotive, have a look here (

Isn't this story just the KEWLest?!? White Lily wrote this story about a month ago and sent it to me and I've been anxious to find out how the Quillers would receive it - quite the same way I did. :-)

This story gave me goosebumps. I've read it at least six times and I always end up in goosebumps, sometimes complete with tears. The twist was not at all expected. I had the same reaction as one of the other reviewers: won't someone eventually notice? But White Lily had a quick-witted response all ready for me on that front. :-) It's so sad to think that after all those years, Angelina could still not tell the twins apart. It makes the story all the more bittersweet. I especially love the fact that George could feel half of himself ripping away the moment Fred died. ::sobs::

As always, another excellent piece of writing from The White Lily. :-)

Ok, that was creepy. Brilliant, sad, well-written, and more than a little disturbing. I can't imagine that Angelina won't figure it out eventually--she and the real Fred must have shared memories that George doesn't know. Were they dressed alike at the time of the accident? How will she feel when she realizes? Will she go along with it? Is there another plot bunny hopping into the scene? Much as I want more of The Promise Ring, I'd also like to see a follow-up to this....
