I can't believe I only just read this now! I love Chicago, it's one of my favorite films and this song is my favorite in the film. My friends and I sing it all the time. I'm printing this out and putting it on my wall. It's so good, and funny, and goes perfectly with the song. I'm very excited. :)

HAHA! This is great, but really only for those people who, like me, are familiar with the song and dance routine that this is modeled after. I haven't seen the entire "Chicago," but I have seen this scene and the one with Queen Latifah singing "When you're good to Mama."

I read your version of it, then I went and listened to actual thing, then read this again. Great job! I can hear the tune in my head when I read it.

Tee hee. This is highly amusing, and a brilliant parody of a great song. I can actually picture everything described in this song, which is either really disturbing or really funny, maybe both. I particularly enjoyed Lockhart's part, as well as the unknown. "You'd better keep on your toes, Potter" - that's perfect. I'm sure the new teacher will be just as, uh, interesting as the first five - although I'd say they're about due for a good teacher.

Yay! That has got to be my favorite song from any musical---and you didn't ruin it for my like other song fics do sometimes when they suck. In fact, I loved this one!! Yay! Do another one!

Reviewer: bluirinkaDate: 2003-08-05
Reviewid: 45508Chapter: 1
haha OMG! Probably the only good songfic I've ever read. Excellent recreation of the whole ribbon thing, as well as "Hat," "Bang," "Moon," "Polyjuice," "Centaurs," "Unknown." The nicknames fit, and also fit the amount of syllables in the original. Now I'm just going to have to try really hard not to picture Umbridge - or Lupin! - in fishnets and garters, lol!
