I've always loved this story. I don't know if I've ever reviewed it, but I certainly should have, since I have read it so many times.
The characterizations seem very true. Both to Arabella's story and as extrapolations of Snape and a generic "good guy" (with a mix of Dumbledore's humor). These seem the logical models of the founders.
I love the idea of the quest to form the hat. And it makes such sense that Salazar would have to add his bit in this way, leaving as he did on bad terms.
Sorry to ramble. Suffice it to say that this is a favorite of mine and I find myself drifting to it for comfort when I have need. Thanks for providing that comfort. |

Amazing.
I love the fact that you had Salazar start Durmstrang, and that you've allowed the two 'enemies' to make up in a way...though they are bitter to the end, at least they understand one another. I really appreicate the common thread of Hogwarts between them, and their shared love of the school. I can't accurately say how much I love this story, but great job. Very well done. |

| I can't believe this story didn't get more reviews. I'm going to mention at the uhh...classic fanfics thread? EVERYONE should read this. It is that spectacular. |

| Brilliant. Beautiful. Genius. Heart-warming. GENUINE. This is exactly how I would picture the beginnings of the Sorting Hat. You've captured the founders perfectly. |

| I love this story. When I read Arabella's "Before the Beginning" story, I went looking for more Founders stories, and happenned upon this one. I think it is an admirable follow up, and a very good addition to the world that formed the framework of future wizarding kind. |
