Touching. Good to know that Severus has, at least, this small relief. Quite well done.

I'm sorry for being neither eloquent nor elaborate in my praise, but I just wanted to say I enjoyed your story very much - its atmosphere is truly mesmerising.
PS: I love the thought of the fish jumping out of the painting :).

Nicely done. Good use of imagery, and I love your descriptions of the old rites. She seems a wonderful character. . .will we see more of her? Very, very well done.

>>>Voldermort had won their souls already.<<< >>>I know you love that paining...<<<

There's some slight typos here. Thought you might want to know. ^_^

This was a nice little dark fic and it flowed rather nicely. The details were chilling when a dark tone was needed and happier when a brighter tone was needed. Good job!

This is a very interesting piece, and is beautifully written. I've just read the Mists of Avalon, so the references drew my attention. This is a concept I haven't really seen tackled before, the idea that the source of the Wizarding world's magic is very dark and that the majority of wizards have forgotten this. There is a stark contrast between the rather frivolous way in which they use magic and the power that it represents.
We know so relatively little of Snape's character that it's difficult to judge what he's really like. He was certainly more open and, I dont know, 'soft' than I've ever imagined him being with anyone, and yet he didn't strike me as being out of character - so this story has revealed a new possible side to Snape for me.

Very, very interesting concepts you handle in this story. The references to Arthurian Myth as well as that form of Old Magic have particularly intrigued me.

The Severus you portray is one that we usually don't get to see, but yet, it stroke me as very in-character.

Finally, I would like to comment that your writing style is vivid and beautiful, and that I enjoyed it quite a lot.

Hope to see more from your work.
