Gryffinjack, I missed this story in January due to a nearly-nonexistent internet connection, but I'm thrilled to have found it now! When I first read A Ministry Christmas, I had no inkling of how Mincot's version of Sirius would come to be so compelling and have so many possibilities. It's been fascinating, to watch the transformation that original lighthearted concept has gone through. Sirius's music gives us an opportunity to explore some of the many questions that remain unanswered about his personality and his experiences.
Your story is a fantastic addition to an intriguing 'new canon.' It is told with finesse and skill, and gives us real insight into the real canon. My heart breaks for Sirius as he discovers his own powerlessness against the Dementors. We know that he worked hard to find a way to keep his mind in the face of Azkaban, and you do a great job of showing us the first stages of his struggle.

| You capture the sorrow and depression that sirius had to endure perfectly. So sad, so unfair, yet still, you captivate the feelings and thoughts as though you, yourself were there. Bravo, (though a tad depressing). Overall, V. Nice. |

Gryff! I forbod you from ever writing something so depressing again EVER! We want happy Sirius fics! LOL
But in reality, this was very well done and quite a believable take on just what the dementors stole from Sirius. |

Terrific stuff, Gryff. You've made music a wonderful metaphor for hope - it brought the whole Shawshank aria scene to mind for me - and made very real the concept of how the Dementors slowly wear a prisoner down.
Achingly sad. |
