Excellent. I thought that you could have taken it a little closer to exposure though.

One hundred Galleons?!? Ooof, if this isn't motivation for a revenge crime later, I don't know what is.

OTOH, as one other review suggested, a follow-up in a post-Book-Two world might just be the curative we poor wounded readers need.

Lockhart's antics don't seem so funny after reading this, do they?

It would be interesting to see a followup after Lockhart is exposed as a fraud...

Wow! This is really great. Again, with the little tiny bits of stuff from the books, yet completely in the Potterverse. These are like companion pieces. I like this because of the friendship between the two woman, I like how Maura knows something is "off" even if she can't figure out what it is and that Adela trusts Maura's instincts. You can see these women together year after year.

Lockhart isn't even in the story and yet is so in character. Nice, nice work.

I really like the conversational tone you developed -- like Adela was talking to the reader. I could really hear her voice. Sometimes it seemed like you were including too many details (like about the law firm's history), but maybe that's how this character tells stories and once I got to the end of the story I realized that having those news clippings was an important element.

Nice inclusion of the Finnigan reference. ;) Until I read that line I'd forgotten that Seamus' boggart was a banshee. I love that kind of continuity with canon.

I usually don't think much about Lockhart, just kind of discard him in my mind as comic relief, but this story reminded how truly heinous his actions were. He used people and then wrecked their lives for his own glory. This was a touching exploration of the effects of Obliviation.

You always have the best ideas for fics. :-)

I remember reading this back in the day and then, you know, promising I'd read it for you after you added to it, and then...not. *hangs head* But it looks like some people did come through for you and you've done a great job!

I can't wait to see what you come up with next! ;-)
