I enjoyed this story..had some great moments in it, and I liked that Dumbledore brought in the costume party (which sounded like something Dumbledore would do).
A couple comments:
Ron was just a bit out of character to me in some places. I can't see Ron ever thinking or saying "She's cute." "Cute" just doesn't see a Ron-like word to me. Some of the things he said, like when he and Hermione were apologizing to each other seemed a bit out of character to me. Not that the fact they apologized was out of character, more the words chosen.
Some things were very in character, such as Ron saying "Glad to" right before he kissed Hermione and "Harry, mark this down, Hermione doesn't know something."
I really liked when Ron mentioned being Percy for Halloween! That was a great moment and very in character!
Another good moment was when Ron wondered how his hand got on Hermione's knee and he was trying to figure out whether he should move it not.
I did find it distracting when Ron suggested they made a good couple when he was talking about their costumes. Just didn't seem like something Ron would say.
Harry was in and out of character. I thought some of his lines would have been more in character if they had been shorter, more concise. Also, Harry would have avoided anything having to do with Ron and Hermione being together, I think.
One other thing that bothered me was Hermione getting along so well with Lavender and Parvati. They seemed a bit too chummy, going by the way they were in the books.
Oh, and would there be a blue chair in the Gryffindor common room? I thougth they were all red?
The costume party idea was brilliant and made a lot of sense the way it was introduced into the plot. It was a very unique approach, one I've not seen before.
I also liked Ginny and Harry's fun costumes. I thought this was in character for both of them. Harry wouldn't want to be anything too dashing and be acused of trying to grab attention again, so I thought your costume idea for them both was fun and made sense.
I liked Ron's costume, too. Sounds like Ron.
The build up to the kiss might have been a bit more effective if it had been a little longer. And would they kiss right there in public in front of everyone? That doesn't sound like Ron to me. Granted, he did that with Lavender, but that was because he wanted to make Hermione jealous. It seems to me that Ron's character would much rather snog Hermione in private.
It was a fun read, with an active flow that moved well. Thanks for letting them kiss, too! Of course that was a great moment! |

| I've been looking for some R/H fiction to read, and I just happened upon this story. I enjoyed the concept of a "redo" ball that actually has a legitimate cause (instead of just another Yule Ball). Everyone was in character and it was just so sweet and cute. |

It was a great story! I really loved it. Almost all fan fics have their characters acting really weirdly, not like the character JK Rowling made at all. But your fic is just like the book. But there was a mistake about Parvati (I'm an Indian too). Lord Shiva isn't a goddess, he's a god. But his wife is called Parvati. Please write more!

Umm...you made a slight error and I thought you might want to correct it. You say that Parvati's costume is the Goddess Shiva, The Destroyer of the Worlds, but Shiva is actually a God not a Goddess. His wife's name is the Goddess Parvati. However, at one point Parvati reincarnates into Goddess Durga the Destroyer of Evil. Perhaps, you should change parvati's costume to Durga...that is what I would suggest. I am Hindu, and I really think you should correct this. Oh, that was so cute and fluffy!! I was just in the mood for a romantic story this morning and this really filled the bill. I have a lovely mental picture in my head of Hermione as Marie Antoinette. The relationships between all four of them was well written.

This story is too cute. I really enjoyed it.
One thing, though ... you may want to reconsider the reference to Shiva. Not only is *he* a *god* (oops!), I don't think many Hindu parents would find it appropriate for their children to dress as a god for a Halloween party, much less do it themselves.
