Awww, this was really sweet. I'm not sure if this is comepleated yet, but if it is, I think you should write more to this story!!!

Charming! I love it! The light, fun nature of the fic goes really well with your faintly humourous writing style.

I also love your characterisation of Newt. There are kids like that out there. The world's not all Dark-wizard defeaters and wise old wizards. Nice work.

Yours in fanfiction,

I hope you don't mind if I transplant this from the old SQ. This was such a good story....

I love animal stories, and "Fantastic Beasts" was my favorite of the two "textbooks" Rowling published. I also have an interest in stories that develop seldom-seen characters, so this made "Magizoologist" a double treat. Add to this a writing style that allows for a range of emotions, from humor (I especially loved the "Irony" pun on the Hippogriff's name. Perfect!) to sorrow ( I won't give the plot away by revealing that one), and this story made for an entertaining read.

I think many of us can relate to "Newt", someone who's a bright and motivated person but not exactly suited to school lectures and discipline. Newt would undoubtedly have been better off apprenticed to someone who worked with magical creatures, but alas, such positions don't seem to be often available. (Although if anyone finds one, please let me know….) He does seem to have the talent for dealing with animals, though, and it's obvious that he is greatly attached to Eddy the Hippogriff. He experiences several of the problems that most of us have known while growing up: clashes with authority, trouble with friends, and the annoyances of your buddy's younger sibling.

Two other themes I'd like to mention: first is the very realistic concern about taking animals out of the wild. Yes, wild animals are interesting and beautiful, but they are above all *wild*. I was happy to see that Eddy had his experience with freedom before the end of the story.

Second, the fact that teachers, knowingly or un-, can have a huge impact on their students. Professor Pokeby (rather aptly named, I thought) is just as responsible for the whole hippogriff incident as Newt. Too bad you can't take house points off a professor….

This was especially good as a first writing effort. I believe your third story, "Innoculations", was recognized as an award-winning fic by the HP_Fanfiction group? Congratulations!

Looking forward to more "Newt" stories.
