Oh, I really liked this. First, it's a great idea; Sir Nick isn't a character I normally think about, but when I saw this summary I was intrigued. Partially that was bc I never really thought of writing on him, but I'm glad you did.
Very well-expanded. It keeps with what little we know from canon and makes a fresh and fleshed out character. I love the bits you include, such as him being knighted. And Nathan Longbottom! Nice little touch, to put in the ancestors.
You also have a really nice style of writing. I wish the type was larger, but that's a technical thing, not related to your writing at all, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall, great. 8-)

We get to see how Nicholas is knighted *and* how he dies! I love seeing stories about minor characters, and this was well-written and imaginatively done. The ending is a treat—James and Frank’s ancestors!
Looking forward to reading any more minor character stories you might have up your sleeve :) |
